About

FJ Labs grew out of Fabrice Grinda and Jose Marin's personal angel investing, and became a fund in 2016 when outside investors asked for exposure to it. It is stage agnostic and concentrated on marketplaces, claiming the largest such portfolio in the world. Grinda described the process on the TechTO stage as a deliberate reaction to his own fundraising experience: a one-hour evaluation, a weekly investment call, and a clear yes or no rather than an indefinite maybe. Portfolio companies have included Alibaba, Coupang, Flexport and Delivery Hero.
