Fonolo sold call-backs: instead of waiting on hold, a caller hangs up and the contact centre rings back when an agent is free. Co-founder and CEO Shai Berger took the TechTO stage in April 2016 to argue a broader point about the same territory — that when a business talks to customers through Facebook Messenger or WeChat rather than its own chat widget, it gains reach but gives up ownership of the channel, the record and the platform's agenda. Verint later acquired the company and integrated the technology; fonolo.com now redirects to Verint.
