About

Founded in 2013 by Bryan Gold and Adam Rivietz, #paid pairs brands with people who are popular on social platforms and handles the matching, campaign execution, content licensing and measurement. Gold told the TechTO stage in 2018 that the Ryerson DMZ connected the company to its first major customer, Coca-Cola, and that #paid was profitable and cash-flow positive in 2017 before it chose a controlled burn and raised a $9M Series A led by ScaleUp Ventures in May 2018. It is headquartered in Toronto with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami. Co-founder and chief strategy officer Adam Rivietz returned to the TechTO stage in 2025, first for a fireside on the Boast Funding Stage at Toronto Tech Week with Export Development Canada's CJ Hervey about funding international expansion, then for a session on leveraging creator content.
