About
Level Access sells software, consulting and training that help organizations meet accessibility law and standards — the ADA, WCAG, AODA, Section 508, the EU directives — across web, mobile, desktop and documents. In June 2022 it agreed to merge with eSSENTIAL Accessibility, the Toronto company Simon Dermer and Spiro Papathanasakis had built since 2008; Level Access was backed by JMI and eSSENTIAL by KKR. The merged business kept the Level Access name and its Arlington headquarters, and both eSSENTIAL co-founders stayed on — Papathanasakis as chief strategy officer. The Canadian half of that story is on the TechTO stage twice, in a 2017 product demo and a 2022 Founder Fridays conversation recorded a month after the merger was announced.
Backers
