Levels

Levels takes a sensor built for diabetes management — the continuous glucose monitor — and turns it into a feedback loop for everyone else. The company built the doctor prescription network needed to ship the sensors directly to consumers, then layered its own app and interpretation on top, so a member can see that a specific breakfast, not the afternoon, is what causes their midday crash. Sam Corcos, who co-founded it in 2019 with Josh Clemente, Casey Means, David Flinner and Andrew Conner, described that as the point: bio-wearables are the first tools that let a person know how food affects them personally, which turns a diet argument into an observation. He also reframed the problem on the TechTO stage — he began thinking Levels was solving ignorance and came to believe it was solving decades of intentional misinformation. The company was built fully remote from the start, before the pandemic, and Corcos said several funds passed on it for that reason. It raised roughly a million dollars from angel friends in its first couple of months, then a $38-million Series A announced in April 2022 and a $10-million extension in August 2024 backed by a16z, Long Journey and its own community. It was not available in Canada at the time of the 2021 conversation.
