About
Christina Cai started the company as Knowtions Research from a two-desk table at the University of Toronto's innovation centre. It raised a US$5 million Series A in 2018 led by Information Venture Partners and a later Series A+ with 500 Global, roughly US$14 million in total, and expanded into Asian insurance markets. It has since rebranded to Lydia AI and moved beyond health insurance into operational AI.
