About

Magnite sits on the supply side of programmatic advertising: publishers and streaming services use it to sell their inventory, and buyers reach that inventory through it. Its own company page puts the scale at 4.7 billion daily impressions worldwide, roughly 157 million households reached through ad-supported streaming TV, and more than 900 employees in 19 offices.

The company is a merger, not a startup. Rubicon Project — the Los Angeles exchange founded in 2007 — and Telaria, the connected-TV specialist, completed a merger of equals on 1 April 2020, pairing Rubicon's display and mobile business with Telaria's CTV and OTT footprint. The combined company took the Magnite name on 30 June 2020 and began trading under MGNI instead of RUBI the next day. Michael Barrett, Rubicon's chief executive, leads it.

Damien Véran reaches Magnite by a longer route: he co-founded the Toronto and Paris outstream video adtech company SlimCut Media, which Telaria acquired in 2018 and which came into Magnite through the merger. He is now Magnite's Group SVP, International.
