About
AdParlor was founded in Toronto in 2008 by Hussein Fazal and Kristaps Ronka, building on Facebook's advertising API to buy and optimise social ads at scale for brands. It took no outside investment, funding growth from client revenue, and passed $100 million in revenue before Adknowledge acquired it in 2011. Fazal told TechTO in July 2015 how the company was bootstrapped to that outcome; he later co-founded SnapTravel, now Super.com. Paul Van Winssen returned to the TechTO stage for AdParlor in November 2017 with a talk on measurement, accountability and optimisation in digital advertising.
Backers
Bootstrapped — no external venture funding raised. Acquired by Adknowledge in 2011.
