About
Maneva's Video-to-Action platform runs computer vision and agentic AI over the camera feeds a plant already has, so a manufacturer does not have to install new sensors to see what is happening on the line. It detects defects, flags hazards and tracks throughput in real time, and sells into steel and lumber manufacturing, meat processing, pharmaceuticals and distribution. Rae Jeong founded the company in 2021 after welding in Alberta, training as an engineer, and working on reinforcement learning and robotics as a research engineer at Google DeepMind; co-founder and CTO Kelvin Chan came from perception R&D at Magna, working on computer vision and deep learning for automotive and manufacturing. The US$27-million Series A announced on 10 June 2026 was led by U.S. Venture Partners and took total funding to US$38.4 million. Jeong took the TechTO stage in April 2025 to talk about what it takes to change one of the largest and most saturated industries in the world using AI.
