About
Diana Goodwin bootstrapped AquaMobile, a marketplace for at-home swimming lessons, into a business operating across North America and Australia, and turned down all three offers she received on Dragons' Den. The scheduling software she had to build to dispatch instructors to homes became the product: MarketBox started in 2019, went to market in 2021 with a waitlist of customers who had the same problem, and added its Smart Clusters engine — grouping bookings to close gaps in a provider's day — in 2023. In 2024 the company began selling that engine on its own to franchisors, marketplaces and enterprises that already run bespoke platforms but need the optimization underneath. Goodwin frames the pitch as efficiency and emissions together: fewer kilometres between appointments is both cheaper and lower-carbon. She spoke at TechTO twice, in 2017 on networking and in 2019 on turning a marketplace into a SaaS product — the transition that produced MarketBox.
Backers
No outside funding round is publicly recorded. Goodwin bootstrapped AquaMobile, the business MarketBox spun out of.
