About
Opener's premise is that wholesale is an attention problem. A brand with hundreds of retail doors has a handful a human rep can actually keep up with, and the rest quietly churn from neglect. Opener's answer is one agent per account: "A rep for every store you sell into."
The product runs in three parts. It analyses — pulling point-of-sale, inventory and sales data into one place. It manages — a dedicated agent watches each account daily, "so nothing churns from neglect because nothing goes unwatched." And it revives — reopening dormant accounts with what has changed since: new products, packaging, pricing, where the market moved. Pricing is commission-based, with no retainer or setup fee: "we only win when you win."
The company says it was built by founders and operators who had worked as wholesale brokers themselves, and states its ambition plainly: "Wholesale should feel as direct and accessible as e-commerce." Steve Ballantyne, who founded and sold Station Cold Brew, is its head of growth.
Backers
No funding is announced anywhere read for this page. Opener charges a commission on the wholesale business it opens rather than a retainer, and publishes no investor list.
Quick answers
What does Opener do?
It gives a CPG brand an AI sales rep for every wholesale account — analysing point-of-sale and inventory data, working each account daily so none churns unnoticed, and reopening dormant stores with what has changed since they last ordered.
Who is it for?
Consumer brands growing distribution through wholesale channels such as Faire and Shopify. More than 250 CPG brands use it. The pitch is aimed at brands whose account book has outgrown the number of doors a human rep can keep warm.
What does it cost?
Commission only. Opener's own line is "we only win when you win" — no retainer, no setup fee, and no requirement to bet on a category up front.
