About
Perpetua is an e-commerce advertising software company whose platform automates and optimizes ads and retail-media buying for brands and sellers on Amazon, Walmart and other marketplaces. The company was originally named Draper AI; Joe Rideout, a former Google engineer, joined to open its Canadian R&D office in Toronto and grew the team past 100 people. Perpetua was acquired by Ascential's Digital Commerce segment in 2022 and now operates internationally with offices including San Francisco, Toronto, London and Tokyo. On the TechTO stage in 2019, Rideout described finding Amazon advertising as a large, painful, fast-growing market and building the first product as a Keynote prototype tested on five real customers.
Backers
Perpetua was acquired by Ascential's Digital Commerce segment in 2022 (Ascential was later acquired by Omnicom in 2024). Earlier venture funding is not detailed here.
