About

PNI built the software retailers put their own brand on: order a photo book, calendar, set of prints or a box of business cards from a big-box retailer's site and PNI's platform rendered and routed it. CEO Cam Lawrence told a TechVancouver audience in 2017 that the Gastown office was about 230 people — 'the biggest company in tech you've never heard of' in the city — and that a 2012 bet on rebuilding the technology, rather than harvesting cash flow from the old platform, led to new customers like Samsung and Office Depot and then the sale to Staples.
