About
Practice Better started because a holistic nutritionist could not find software built for how she actually worked. Founded in Toronto in 2014 by Nathalie Garcia and Graeme Downes, it now serves health and wellness practitioners internationally. Kim Walsh became CEO in May 2023 and Garcia moved to Chief Strategy Officer. In November 2024 the company took a US$13M growth facility from CIBC Innovation Banking.

Quick answers
What does Practice Better do?
It gives nutritionists, dietitians, coaches and other health and wellness practitioners one system for scheduling, notes, client messaging, protocols and billing, instead of stitching several tools together.
Who founded Practice Better?
Nathalie Garcia, a former holistic nutritionist, and Graeme Downes, in Toronto in 2014. Garcia led it as CEO until 2023 and is now Chief Strategy Officer.
How does Practice Better decide what to build?
Garcia told HealthTO in 2019 that she and her co-founder kept doing customer support themselves for years, so that every decision-maker heard users' language and pain points first-hand.
