Qudos set out to make hiring a firm work more like hiring a person: a buyer would post the specific need, the plan and the budget, and sellers of business services would respond against that rather than pitch blind. Crunchbase describes it as a data-driven platform "for bringing together buyers and sellers of business services" and lists 11-50 employees at its peak.
Ali Davar founded it in Vancouver. He had co-founded Zite, the personalised news app spun out of UBC research that reached number one in the App Store and was acquired by CNN in 2011, and he brought that consumer-ranking problem with him — his November 2017 TechVancouver talk was on shaping how users read ratings and rankings.
Qudos is no longer operating. Crunchbase lists its status as Closed, and qudos.com now redirects to a domain marketplace listing rather than a live product.
