About

Retail Zipline, founded in 2014 by Melissa Wong and Jeremy Baker, makes retail communications and task execution software. The problem it addresses is that head office sends stores instructions through email, portals and binders, and has no reliable way of knowing what got executed; Zipline consolidates that into a single prioritized list for the store team and reports completion back up. It prices per store rather than per user, deliberately, so every employee has access. Customers include Gap, Old Navy, LUSH and LEGO. The company raised a Series A in May 2019 from Emergence Capital and Serena Ventures and a US$25 million Series B in March 2021, taking reported total funding to roughly US$48 million. Baker, its CTO, presented at TechVancouver in November 2017. The company is headquartered in San Francisco.

Backers

Emergence Capital and Serena Ventures backed the May 2019 Series A. A US$25 million Series B followed in March 2021, taking reported total funding to roughly US$48 million; the Series B lead was not confirmed in the sources checked.
