About
Scheltr set out to simplify renting for students, building a platform to help University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University students find off-campus housing. Wil Schmor, a UX designer who arrived in Waterloo in 2012 with the first cohort of Global Business and Digital Arts, co-founded it and spoke about the company on the TechWaterloo stage in April 2017 — a talk about the speed a small team has to move at while validating a product, building it and winning customers, and what that means for what you automate, what you cut, and how much process you can afford.
