About

SlimCut Media was founded by Damien Véran and Thomas Davy to sell outstream video advertising, placing video ad units inside articles on pages that carried no video of their own. It worked with most of Canada's major media owners, including Bell Media, Quebecor, Rogers Media, Corus, The Globe and Mail, Postmedia and Torstar, alongside US clients. Telaria acquired the company on 12 June 2018 for an undisclosed sum, and it operated as SlimCut Powered by Telaria. Telaria then merged with Rubicon Project in 2020 to form Magnite, where both founders continued; Véran is still there today.
