About

SortSpoke, which operates as Mocsy Inc., builds intelligent document processing software in Toronto. Its platform extracts data from any unstructured document, in any language, and is set up by business users rather than IT: a user trains it on fewer than 100 example documents, then reviews the output human-in-the-loop for data quality. The strongest pull has been insurance — carriers, MGAs, reinsurers and third-party administrators in commercial P&C and life use it to turn submission and claims paperwork into the data needed for triage and underwriting, with the company claiming a team can review roughly 50% more submissions without adding staff. Lending is the second vertical. SortSpoke announced US$4.5 million in funding in 2022, led by IDEA Fund Partners and SixThirty Ventures with a Fortune 500 insurance carrier participating, earmarked for sales and marketing in those two verticals. In April 2025 it partnered with Optalitix on underwriting efficiency. Founder Jasper Li presented at TechTO in November 2017 on selling AI into the enterprise.
