Tali grew out of a Public Health Agency of Canada innovation challenge: the team built a medical question-answering engine, then realised the same engine could take documentation off physicians' hands. The company sells bottom-up — physicians who like the product pull it into their organisations — which CEO Mahshid Yassaei credits on the TechTO stage for winning integrations with TELUS Health, WELL Health and QHR, and for 6x growth in 2024.

What does Tali AI do?
Its ambient AI scribe listens to a physician-patient conversation, with the patient's consent, transcribes it and updates the chart — replacing the documentation work that Yassaei says costs physicians 10 to 15 hours a week.
Who founded Tali AI?
Mahshid Yassaei and Hesam Dadafarin, in 2020. Yassaei is CEO and Dadafarin is CTO. The pair had already co-founded the healthcare software studio Evenset together in 2015.
How did Tali AI grow?
Bottom-up through physicians, then top-down through their organisations. Yassaei told the TechTO stage in March 2025 that this two-way engine drove 6x growth in 2024 and won integrations with TELUS Health, WELL Health and QHR.
