About
The Blueprint was a publication and shop for people building consumer hardware. PCH International — the Cork- and San Francisco-based supply-chain company run by Liam Casey — acquired the Toronto ecommerce startup ShopLocket in January 2014, and three months later ShopLocket and PCH launched Blueprint as a media site and email digest for hardware entrepreneurs, with resource directories of hacker spaces, service providers and events, and a run of daily interviews with industry figures. In June 2014 it became a storefront as well, selling early-stage and pre-production hardware at theblueprint.com with 13 products at launch. Katherine Hague, ShopLocket's co-founder, headed it, and it was Hague — not PCH — who brought The Blueprint to the Toronto Tech Meetup stage on 9 February 2015 at PwC Tower to give a Hardware 101 talk. By the time the Internet Archive captured the site in May 2016 it was back to being a publication, with 156 stories published and nothing new since November 2015. Two years later the domain served a default nginx page, and today it does not respond at all.

Not separately funded. The Blueprint was a property of PCH International, which had acquired the ShopLocket team that built and ran it in January 2014.
