Unsupervised

Unsupervised is an enterprise AI company co-founded by Tyler Willis and Noah Horton that automates data analysis for very large organisations, surfacing patterns in their own data that move a metric they care about. Its customers include AT&T, and it now also builds control systems for autonomous AI agents.

About

Unsupervised inverts the usual analytics workflow. Rather than answering the questions an analyst already knew to ask, it works through the complexity of a large organisation's data on its own and reports back the patterns that matter to a specific metric — churn, upsell, risk, cost. Tyler Willis, who co-founded it with Noah Horton, described the pitch on the TechTO stage in June 2021 as helping very large companies understand and use the complexity of their data to find opportunities to move metrics that matter to them. The two had worked together before, at Involver, the social marketing platform Horton co-founded and Willis joined at 19, which Oracle acquired in 2012 and used as the nucleus of Oracle Marketing Cloud. The company has since extended from analysis into agentic engineering, publishing tools that put quality gates and human review around autonomous AI agents, and it names AT&T among its customers.

Quick answers

What does Unsupervised do?

It automates the analysis of large enterprise datasets, finding the patterns that affect a business metric rather than waiting for someone to ask the right question. It has since added tooling that supervises autonomous AI agents — quality gates and human review around agent work.

Who founded Unsupervised?

Tyler Willis and Noah Horton. Horton had co-founded Involver, the social marketing software company where Willis ran marketing from the age of 19 and which Oracle bought in 2012; they started Unsupervised together around 2018.

Who uses it?

Large enterprises. The company names AT&T as a customer on its own site and describes work with a Fortune 500 healthcare payer, in both cases framed around finding money or risk hidden in data the organisation already held.
