About
Before Upverter, electronics design software ran on one engineer's desktop and its files were passed around by hand. Upverter rebuilt it as a fully cloud, fully collaborative system — schematic capture and PCB layout in a browser, with version history and shared editing. Zak Homuth co-founded it in Toronto in 2010 and took it through Y Combinator's Winter 2011 batch. Altium acquired the company in August 2017, moved the whole engineering team across, and made the tool free to use. Homuth went on to help build SRTX, the maker of Sheertex hosiery, into a vertically integrated manufacturer.
