Jocelyne Murphy helped scale Socratica from a student co-working session into a network of builders spanning dozens of cities, and came away with a specific observation: most communities quietly collapse before they get anywhere, and the reason is usually operational rather than a lack of interest. Wygo is the attempt to fix that. On the surface it looks like Luma or Eventbrite — hosts create in-person events, attract attendees, and charge for tickets or take donations — with a deliberately unpolished visual style. Underneath, the pitch is infrastructure and support for the organiser: the person doing the unpaid work of getting people into a room. Murphy started it with Christopher Oka in 2023 as a side project. In April 2026 the company announced a pre-seed of nearly $1.6 million led by N49P, with StandUp Ventures, Garage Capital, Zero 21 Partners, Backbone Angels, Good Future and Shopify chief executive Tobi Lütke; by then the platform had handled more than 10,000 ticket sales. Murphy's TechTO talk in May 2026 was about why communities fail, not about the product.
