Boardy

Boardy is an AI superconnector you talk to like a person — over a phone call, LinkedIn, email or WhatsApp — that learns what you're building and who you need, then makes double-opt-in warm intros. Founded in Toronto in 2024 by Clearco co-founder Andrew D'Souza, it raised its Creandum-led seed through its own introductions.

What they build

BoardyThe AI superconnector itself. No app, login or dashboard — Boardy has a phone number, an email address, a LinkedIn profile and WhatsApp. You have a conversation about what you need; when it finds a match, it makes a double-opt-in intro by email.
Boardy VenturesAn AI-led venture fund launched with AngelList in late 2025. Boardy sources and evaluates founders, a rotating group of human partners reviews deals, and D'Souza signs off on checks around US$100k.

About

Andrew D'Souza spent years funding e-commerce founders at Clearbanc (now Clearco). His next company, started in Toronto in March 2024 with co-founders Matt Stein, Shen Sivananthan, Ankur Boyed and Abhinav Boyed, is a deliberately different kind of product: Boardy is an AI superconnector with no app, no login and no dashboard. It has a phone number, an email address, a LinkedIn profile and WhatsApp. You talk to it like a person, it works out what you're building and who could help, and when both sides say yes it makes the intro over email. Within months of the October 2024 launch and its HF0-led $3M pre-seed, Boardy had made thousands of calls — and effectively raised the company's next round itself: investors in the Creandum-led $8M seed (January 2025) spoke with Boardy before they ever spoke with the team. On the TechTO stage in May 2025, D'Souza framed the long-term ambition as an 'AI Richard Branson' — a genuinely well-connected personality people actually want to talk to. In late 2025 the company extended the idea into capital with Boardy Ventures, an AI-led fund run in partnership with AngelList.

Quick answers

How do you actually use Boardy?

There's no app to download. Boardy has a phone number, an email address, a LinkedIn profile and WhatsApp. You have a conversation — usually a phone call — about what you're building and what you need, and when Boardy finds a match it makes a double-opt-in intro by email.

Who founded Boardy?

Andrew D'Souza, the Clearbanc/Clearco co-founder, started it in Toronto in 2024 with co-founders Matt Stein, Shen Sivananthan, Ankur Boyed and Abhinav Boyed. D'Souza is CEO.

Did Boardy really raise its own funding round?

Mostly, yes. Investors in the $8M Creandum-led seed (January 2025) reached out after trying the product — per D'Souza, they spoke with Boardy directly before speaking with him or anyone on the team. The round came about three months after a $3M pre-seed led by HF0.
