About
CareGuide was built on a contrarian bet: buy the category's best domain names first and treat them as prepaid marketing. Founder John Philip Green launched every city at once rather than densifying one, funded the company with a $1.3M seed from roughly 55 angels, and ran each care vertical as its own marketplace on shared infrastructure. In 2017 he used the HealthTO stage to announce Nanny Lane, a nanny-sharing service built on the rising cost of US child care.

Quick answers
What does CareGuide do?
It matches families with non-medical caregivers — nannies, housekeepers, pet sitters and elder care — through a portfolio of care marketplaces run on shared technology and marketing infrastructure.
Who founded CareGuide?
John Philip Green, in 2012, with no co-founder. He built the first sites himself and incubated the company while an entrepreneur in residence at Hedgewood, Jesse Rasch's investment firm.
What is Nanny Lane?
CareGuide's nanny-sharing marketplace, announced by Green from the HealthTO stage in November 2017. Two families share one nanny simultaneously — each pays less than a solo nanny costs, while the nanny takes home more.
