About
Cookin launched in Toronto in 2022 as a marketplace where home cooks and chefs could sell what they cook, plus the software to run that as a business — listings, orders, payments and delivery. It raised from Relay Ventures, Mistral Ventures and Sobeys, with angels including Wealthsimple's Michael Katchen and Resy's Ben Leventhal. CookUnity, the US chef-made meal delivery company, acquired it in an all-stock deal that closed in November 2024 and was announced that December; the 20-person team stayed, and co-founders Morley Ivers and Michael Baruch kept their roles while also leading CookUnity's Canadian expansion. Baruch told the growth story at TechTO Together in February 2024.
Backers
