About

EnergyX sold to utilities including Enbridge, and its founders were open about how: co-founder and CEO Nishaant Sangaavi told the TechTO stage in May 2018 that the first deal closed within three months, sold on wireframes rather than a product. In 2024 EnergyX was rolled up into Brillion alongside Apogee Interactive, AIQUEOUS and energyOrbit, in a consolidation backed by M33 Growth.

Quick answers

What did EnergyX Solutions do?

It licensed a SaaS platform to utilities and energy-efficiency providers — Enbridge among them — so their customers could get audit-grade recommendations on retrofits that lower energy costs.

What happened to EnergyX?

It was acquired in 2024 and folded into Brillion, an M33 Growth-backed group that also brought together Apogee Interactive, AIQUEOUS and energyOrbit. Co-founder Nishaant Sangaavi joined Brillion's leadership.

How did EnergyX sell to utilities?

By manufacturing urgency utilities do not have on their own. Sangaavi told TechTO to aim for a no in the first meeting, find what keeps the buyer up at night, create the pain, then create the reason to buy now.
