Smart Nora

Smart Nora was a Toronto sleep-technology company that made a contact-free anti-snoring device. A bedside unit detected snoring and signalled an insert under the pillow to gently move it, prompting the sleeper to resume quiet breathing without waking. Founded in 2015 by brothers Behrouz and Behzad Hariri, it operated until 2025.

About

Smart Nora launched via a 2015 Kickstarter campaign and shipped its pillow-based snoring solution to customers worldwide. The company reported more than 100,000 units sold and over $30 million in lifetime revenue, and its device was reviewed favourably by Wirecutter. It filed for bankruptcy in July 2025 after tariff increases derailed fundraising for a next-generation product.
