About

Lyotier has been building travel technology out of the same small British Columbia city for more than a decade. Left ran a network of consumer travel brands and, alongside them, RightMesh, a peer-to-peer mobile mesh network meant to give people connectivity where infrastructure did not reach; it wound down in 2020. TravelAI is the current company, an applied-AI business in travel — planning, booking and what it calls agentic networks — operating under the UpNext Group. It is a volume business rather than a research one: its chief executive has put gross booking value above US$268M for 2024 and said he expected the 2025 figure to be nearer US$500M. Lyotier took the TechVancouver stage in March 2017, for Left, to argue that culture is built out of small deliberate decisions.

Backers
