About
Kiite, founded in Waterloo by siblings Joseph Fung and Donna Litt with Derek Hall, sold sales-enablement software and collected a large body of data on how sales teams actually work. Just before the pandemic the company turned that data into a free tech-sales training program, Uvaro on Demand, funded in part through the National Research Council's Industrial Research Assistance Program. The program launched in February 2020 with 800 applicants and no upfront tuition, and became the business: Kiite became Uvaro. In December 2021 it raised a US$12-million Series A — reported as $14.8 million CAD — led by White Star Capital. The company now sells through workforce partners as well as directly, and states an average annual income lift of $17,000 for members twelve months after joining. Fung, a University of Waterloo computer engineering graduate whose earlier HR startup TribeHR was acquired by NetSuite, spoke at TechTO's SalesTO in 2018 while still running Kiite.
