About
FTSY was started by Ryan Smith and classmates during the UBC MBA programme, looking for a large market with structural waste. The product photographed a customer's feet in a Snapchat-like flow, built a model accurate to a couple of millimetres including arch reconstruction, and pre-populated a store's catalogue with the sizes that would fit that person rather than the size printed on the box. Smith demonstrated it at TechVancouver in April 2017 alongside head of product PJ Worsfold, when it was in closed beta in two Vancouver stores and Keen was a beta partner. The company was a winner of the Vancouver Fundica Roadshow in 2019. Its ftsy.com domain no longer resolves.
