About

Founded in 2018 by Anshul Ruparell, Sheldon McCormick and Craig Dunk, Properly raised roughly $100M from U.S. and Canadian investors including Bain Capital Ventures. In January 2023 it dropped its purchase guarantee amid a volatile housing market; later that year the founders exited and the company was sold in two transactions — Compass acquired the bulk of its assets and IP while Pine acquired its brokerage and home-search platform. The Properly brand no longer operates independently.

Backers

Investors included Bain Capital Ventures (Series B lead), Golden Ventures, Interplay and Industry Ventures; HGTV's Property Brothers also invested via a partnership.
