About
Rawcology makes organic, low-sugar, grain-free granola and snacks built to be eaten by people with dietary restrictions — no peanuts, gluten or dairy, and free of the top allergens, produced in a dedicated allergen-free facility. Tara Tomulka started it in 2017, and it is run by three women: Tomulka, her sister Laura Powadiuk and her sister-in-law Megan Loach Tomulka. Retail Insider reported in February 2025 that the brand had passed 1,500 retail locations across Canada, the United States and international markets, listing Loblaws, Sobeys, Whole Foods, Metro and Farm Boy in Canada and Sprouts Farmers Market in the US, sourcing wild blueberry powder from Nova Scotia and oats from the Prairies, and running the plant as a zero-waste facility. Tomulka took the Commerce Toronto stage in September 2025 to talk about the mindset shifts behind building a brand. She told the room she had over a thousand Canadian retailers, had launched a 600-gram bulk format of the blueberry granola into Costco's West Coast Canadian stores that July, and that the work happens in a 3,600-square-foot facility in Toronto's west end — and that the catalyst for starting was burnout and anxiety in a corporate communications career.
