Sales for Life

Sales for Life was a Toronto sales-training company that taught B2B teams to prospect on LinkedIn and Twitter when social selling was still a contested idea. Its co-founders, Jamie Shanks and Amar Sheth, went on to build the signal-intelligence company Pipeline Signals in 2021.

No longer operating — salesforlife.com no longer resolves in DNS (checked 2026-08-13), and its co-founders have been running Pipeline Signals since 2021. No shutdown announcement was found.

About

Sales for Life was a Toronto training business built around a single argument: that B2B sellers had to work the same social platforms their buyers were already researching on. It ran coaching, training and a learning-management system for mid-market and enterprise sales teams, and its people wrote constantly — Jamie Shanks published Social Selling Mastery in 2016. Amar Sheth carried the case to the January 2017 SalesTO stage, where he told a room that salespeople now had to think of themselves as marketers, that communicating on LinkedIn and on Twitter are different jobs, and that the point of social is pipeline rather than applause. BetaKit later described Sales for Life as Shanks and Sheth's first company, one whose customers built Boolean LinkedIn searches to spot opportunities and risks inside their accounts — the idea they rebuilt as Pipeline Signals in 2021.

Quick answers

What did Sales for Life do?

It trained and coached B2B sales teams on social selling — using LinkedIn and Twitter to research accounts, find buyers and build pipeline — and sold a learning-management system alongside the training.

Who ran it?

Jamie Shanks as chief executive and Amar Sheth, who led customer success and later served as chief operating officer. The two went on to co-found Pipeline Signals in 2021.

Is it still operating?

No sign of it. Its website no longer resolves and both co-founders now run Pipeline Signals. No formal shutdown was announced, so the founding year is also unconfirmed here.
